November Flight Deals Report

As predicted earlier this year, flight prices are falling for the fall.

Here are the (in many cases, warmer) overseas destinations where American travelers can find some of the best deals on flights for November. The chart below shows which U.S. cities have one-way direct flights available for under $100, and between $100 and $250.

  • Overall, Cancun takes the #1 spot. During November, 26 cities have flights available for under $250 at some point during the month. That compares with 22 cities last month.

  • With 14 cities offering flights under $100, Puerto Rico ties with Cancun for the most super-cheap tickets.

  • Guadalajara, Mexico takes the #2 spot overall, with 19 flights under $250.

Ranking U.S. Cities by Cost of Living

When people think of digital nomads, they usually picture someone on a laptop in a low-cost, exotic country. But according to an analysis by Resume.io, the most popular country for digital nomads is actually the good ol’ US of A.

Using data from Numbeo, we’ve ranked 62 big American cities by cost of living (including rent). As the most expensive city in the country, New York is used as the reference point at 100. According to Numbeo’s methodology, a city with a score of 49 would be 51% cheaper than New York.

  • With a score of 49, Cincinnati, Ohio is officially the cheapest big city in the U.S. Median rent for a one-bedroom apartment clocks in at $995 per month vs. over $4,200 in New York City.

  • Ranked at #24, Jacksonville, Florida is the cheapest major city located close to a beach. Average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is approximately $1,300 a month. That compares favorably with the $2,600 average in Miami.
