Today, over 40 countries offer digital nomad visas of six months or longer. Several more nations, including South Africa, Peru, and the Philippines, are preparing to launch remote work visas any day now.
The only problem: actually obtaining a nomad visa is sometimes extremely complex (“absolute nightmare” wrote one Reddit user on Spain’s nomad visa). On the other hand, the South American nation of Uruguay features a simple online application and a token $10 fee.
